Description

What it does

macOS menu bar plus a Settings row, Outdoor/Beta only. FeatureKeyboardBacklight owns the CoreBrightness private-framework bridge, service state, ON/OFF restore policy, last-brightness persistence key, manual-vs-ambient auto state transitions, the F3/F4 key-step policy (package 71: a key press moves the backlight by the shared 16-step curve and, unlike the menu slider, reaches true 0 — landing on 0 turns the menu row OFF through the same state the row toggle owns, while the slider keeps its 1% floor for drag semantics), and the SwiftUI menu row plus settings content. The package is linked only by Direct/Outdoor and macOS Beta targets, never by App Store targets. It intentionally has no Utilities hub card; the Settings row is a SECTION of preferences rather than live controls — the F3/F4 remap toggle (moved here from Monitor Controls on 2026-08-09 once the remap started driving the backlight) and a 'Show in Menu Bar' switch that hides only the popover row, leaving the keys, the Local API route and the settings section working. Menu-bar row visibility is a second, independent gate on the existing menu-bar contribution (AppSettingKeys.keyboardBacklightShowInMenuBar, default ON).
